Fun filled Layout

Hi there, here I am with my latest post for Itsy Bitsy blog..
Have u checked out WRMK 'albums made easy" range...they have huge collection with linen as well as leather album in some cool colors. If you like keeping photo "positives" for a memory, or creating scrapbook layouts than these are for you.
These are 12x12 inch D-ring albums with metal corner and spine accents. The album includes photo sleeves and page protectors (though you can get wide variety of WRMK LINEN ALBUMS.)
And whats more...these hold up to 100 pages..that is a lot of photos and some amazing memories.

So lets gets started...in my DT kit I got this lovely Butter colored Linen album..
And some very pretty papers from Mixed Company pattern paper and  Maggie Holmes pattern paper from Crate paper.
The packaging says 12x12 inch but believe me its 15x12 inch for the album cover (that is a huge space!!)

You can design it in many ways..mix media, stamping, shabby chic layouts or simple scrapbook layouts..I chose to do a bright scrapbook layout.

For the layout I decided on a layered look with distressed edges.
For the edges you can use a pair of scissors(blade side) to distress it and than ink it on the edges. Any inks can be used.

More layers are in the form of tags ..these are hand cut, used eyelet punch/setter and some satin ribbons.Notice the 'Dream' word that is from the latest stamp release at the store. Lovely designs..if you still haven't got them I recommend putting some in shopping cart.

If you are following our blog you would have read my post on wrmk Banner tool..(i created some huge banners there!) here is a cute little penant and flag banner with little gem alphabets. Stuck the banner with hemp twine.

The center of the cover houses space for 4x4 inch photo. I have cut the rectangle ornate chipboard piece at opposite ends and stuck in a way that it forms perfect space for a 4x4 inch photo. This is the focal point of this album cover.
These chipboard can be hand painted, heat embossed or used as it is...I am a big hoarder of these and love to paint or heat emboss them. Here I have painted them in gold.

And now the embellishing journey starts..I love these paper flowers ,you add them to any project and the looks just pops out!..
And yes before I forget since these are linen album they took so well to the stenciling.I used a script stencil( stencils are great for breaking the monotonous backgrounds and adding some depth).
Also have used a bit of  tiger tail near the bottom leaf. And some enamel dots finish the project.

Here is the complete layout for this album cover page.

Hope you liked the makeover ...Do leave some love in the comments.
Thanks
Happy crafting!!

Vertical Banner

Hi ladies,
Here is my another project using WRMK Banner Punch Board created for Itsy Bitsy. Creating banners is always fun especially for birthdays, home decor etc..So I thought of creating a vertical banner which can be used as pin board, photo mat etc.
For the project I have used some lovely pattern papers from the Itsy Bitsy store..
In my last post I had used this amazing tool for creating flag shaped shaker banner , lets explore a different shape, this time a Crest or pocket shaped banner.
I have used three different sizes for the three panels. I would not say it depicts any particular style but a mix of both shabby and rustic.

The first panel has a hand written quote (i tried a bit of lettering) and used laser cut chipboard wings from the latest collection added to the Itsy Bitsy store...loads of amazing designs..and I am sure you will love the entire range..You can use these lasercuts as it is or paint them, heat emboss them like i have done. I have used combination of two shades. Have also used a lace trim and pearls.

For the second panel I have used this very pretty pattern paper which has this old rustic feel to it. For this I have layered the pattern papers with a magnetic sheet between them. There is a center photo mat which also magnetic backing..
Not clear in the photo but have cut slits in corner to fix a photo.

The last panel is the biggest size you can make with the banner tool. And this my favorite panel.
It has the new flower collection launched at Itsy Bitsy..aren't these gorgeous..These flowers have a lovely sheen to them and would brighten up any project you use them for.
For the little lasercut chipboard piece i used a lace piece from my stash and heat embossed it in gold.
Notice the little tags..thy have a wooden peg to adhere them to the center of the panel which is magnetic.Lady's silhouette is fussy cut from the same pattern paper and I used the foam tape to give it a little dimension.
For all the three panels I have used chipboard to give it a strong base and used ribbon to connect each piece and hang it.I have used the liquid silicone glue from Itsy Bitsy and its must have adhesive..quick drying, very strong and odorless.
All supplies can be found at Itsy Bitsy store..
 Supplies used:
WRMK banner tool
pattern paper
adhesives (craft glue and liquid silicone glue)
chipboard base
wooden peg
handmade flower
embossing powder
chipboard embellishments
foam tape
glue dots
pearls

Hope you liked this small home decor piece.
Would love to hear from you and do share your creations.

the beautiful day

HI,
I have been trying my hands at making cards recently, not my forte..but few friends has asked me to make some for them and here I am with one such card which is very close to my heart..
Used the very famous Altenew The Beautiful Day stamp set on Brustro watercolor paper.Later die cut the piece with MFT square stitch dies.
I have heat embossed the image in clear and used my MISTI stamping tool with along with the masking technique (masked the big center flower to stamp the flower bunches)
Used Zig clean clear brush markers for the watercolor effect. ( Marika Rahtu  is my inspiration..)
And the sentiment comes from one of the most versatile Gratitude stamp set from Penny Black.

hope you like the card :)

Banner Punch Board

Hi crafty people,

If you are joining the Itsy Bitsy Sizzix BLOG HOP, you must have joined me from the Itsy Bitsy blog. If not click here for IB's new design team reveal, new challenge and an amazing blog hop.

Its a privilege being on ITSY BITSY blog...when i started my craft journey this was one craft store I would look forward to for pattern paper, chipboards, flower embellies, etc etc..And since than the store has grown many folds..I am sure if you have visited it lately you would have fallen in love with this craft paradise and if not..plan a in-store or online store tour soon ..

This would be my first blogpost as the Itsy Bitsy DT member. And here is what I got as my DT kit for this month...the WRMK banner punch board..We Are Memory Keepers makes amazing punch boards (check out the complete range here)
And don't miss to have a look at that amazing set of pattern papers..

PS: Heavy pictorial post follows!!..

I would be using some of these papers and the banner punch board to create a Shaker Banner.
The banner punch board creates banners measuring between 1" and 8.5 ". The punch board has a cutting blade template with magnetic arm to hold the paper in place while cutting,a hole punch and one swivel blade.
Lets start with types of shapes the punch board can cut..the package says around 30..here sre some most used shapes in banners..These are easy to cut, you just have to follow the horizontal and vertical guidelines on the punch board.

Steps for Shaker Banner (FLAG shaped)
I took my 12"x 12" pattern paper and trimmed it to 6"x 5" (4 pcs).
Since it shaker I need another set of papers trimmed to 5"x 4".
These are double sided papers, you can use any coordinating papers of your choice.

Next I used my banner punch board to trim the paper to FLAG shape.
Notice the blue swivel blade..it houses itself in the magnetic arm..u don't have to fear of its getting lost or anybody getting hurt.
The punch board comes with hole punch to punch the banner.

This is how the flag shaped banners would look...

For making a shaker we would require to remove the center piece from the smaller flag banner. I removed a piece Half inch smaller from all the sides. Add transparent OHP sheet to the center. You can use double sided tissue tape to adhere the ohp sheet. Also for giving it a little dimension add 2-way foam tape to the back of smaller flag banner.

I have used sequins and micro glass beads in coordinating colors for making the shaker banner.

Notice the twin owl chipboard..I have heat embossed them by mixing two shades of embossing powders..If you don't have embossing powders than you can also paint/ink these chipboard designs..

Used gross grain ribbon and twine with mini wooden pegs to hang the shaker banner.

Hope you enjoyed the post..Do try and share with us your creations.

Altenew Fever!!

Hi crafty heads,
Its been a while since i blogged..as always i need a lot of push to blog ...not an inborn talent i have like my peers..
Altenew stamps and their inks are the new choices of any crafter..And yes they indeed have some wonderful floral designs. My first fav was their Persian Motif stamp set and the latest being The Beautiful Day and Wild Hibscus... you can play so much with these..
Recently got myself these funky colors of embossing powders (grapefruit and lavender) from Zing!..and what better choice could be than to try them with some floral motifs and most apt for spring weather with flowers in bloom everywhere.
The twist here is i did the heat embossing on Judikins Embossable window plastic sheets and stamped the image  (in yellow) on the cardstock below.
My latest luxury is Zig Clean Clear Markers..used these to color the image on the cardstock ,you can play with these to get some wonderful watercolor effects..

The Traingle Round about!!

hi ppl,

U might think its just another random shape...but wait!!..its not we use often in our creations...
and believe me i was thinking on my project for days...
And zeroed upon this idea...
A layered triangle box with a twist..and the twist goes as each layer can turn 360 degrees..!!
And yes all boxes open up for small trinkets, chocolates, etc..

And here is my take on the triangles!!..
I created three triangle boxes and the base of one box is attached to the lid of the lower box with a
little brad.
The box looks like this when aligned ..

And like this when each layer turns ...

And yes! the boxes open up!

Hope my little experiment inspired you think out of the box!..
