CAS part III

Hi Peeps,
Everybody must be in festive mood with Xmas around the corner and with New Year plans.
Its JOY and Happiness in the air...
Thought of trying my hands at another set of cards...These are fun to make and take so less time than quilling :P (this winter my fingers have dismissed the idea of quilling i guess...)
The best part I finished each card in 10 min..

The first is for Santa :)
The background is done by putting distress inks to the acrylic block , a little spritz of water (layered stamping). The Xmas tree was stamped , all the layers cut and glued with a little dimension .And used my fav Gratitude stamp set from PB for the sentiment. And the little 3D star on top...:)
(entering this in : CC #6 stamping techniques)

2.For this next card the background is done with Rangers Distress Stains (the only 3 shades i have ;)) ....finally used them..Flower image stamped in versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

3.Bright and colorful..(Embossed resist)
The concentric circles were first clear embossed , distress inks added later .
Cut these circles using MS circle cutter...i love this tool( i m bad at cutting free hand circles...somehow they never turn out to be circles :P.The sentiment is stamped on vellum .and do notice the tiny miny green dots (liquid pearls).

Hoping you would like these...:)

HELLO!!

Hi,
And here i am with another quick n easy card...
Looks like its only cards for year end...And yes! i m loving making these...
For this stamped the 'hello birdie" with versamark and then heat embossed it with Lindy's caesar gold embossing powder. The flower is from Tim Holtz tattered flowers..distressed and the centre secured with a red brad. This was my first try with the flower..(and i m hopeless!! ) , a little background created with a yellow and white polka dot pattern paper scalloped at edges.
Hope u like this quicke...:)

CAS...part II

Hi,
Thank you ladies for liking the CAS cards I posted earlier..
All the appreciation inspired me to try some more...I guess clean and simple cards are "IN" this season :)
So here are few more...and i hope u like these too...
1. A Thank You note card..made using distress inks with my fav damask stencil...tried to create a little color gradation here from light to dark...

2. Another note card with the image (open flower from hero arts) heat embossed in gold(Lindy's ep) and added a pink pearls to add a dash of color and the sentiment comes from PB gratitude stamp set.Little color has also been added to the edges..to give a little definition to the whole look.

3. Clear embossed and distressed in two tone..I love the bright orange and yellow..:) Sentiment is stamped in black and heat embossed in gold for the shadow effect...(not sure if the pics helps u see the shadow effect)

And here are all three cards ...

Quillograpghy

Hi,
Quilling is my fav thing to do and especially the typography using 3mm paper strips..its therapeutic and also fun to do...Yes! it definitely needs a lot of patience but the end products make me forget all those hours of sitting in the same position...without even lifting the head :)

2 years back when i started quilling and was searching google about the technique, the first thing i came across was Quillography by Yulia Brodskaya...and nothing inspired me more..She is an amazing artist and I proudly admit that her work is my inspiration..
Another person whose work i just love is Pritesh Ananth Krishnan (Artizire founder n creative head).I like the precision she has...and I am trying my best to get the same...Its still long way to go...

Hridya ..wanted me to blog about typography with paper strips...though i don't have much of photographic collection of the same...A few which i have i m sharing...

here is how to start...
  1. Decide on the sentiment, name, initials etc and choose a font, but remember to take a font which gives you space to design and is easy to manoeuvre.
  2. You can print the font with desired size or draw it on your final surface.
  3. Now what you need is paper strips (3mm, 5mm, 10mm) whatever you feel comfortable to work with ...my personal fav is 3mm.
  4. And yes you need your quilling slotted tool, fine tip tweezers, scissors, any quick drying adhesive with fine tip nozzle (i use fabric glue, its quick drying , dries transparent and no mess adhesive).
  5. Go about putting a fine line of glue to the drawn/transferred letters(using a carbon paper) and then adhere the paper strip.Put glue only to that much area which you can cover in one go , otherwise the glue dries..so its a slow process which needs a lot of patience.
  6. If you wish you can draw the design reference on a rough paper..I usually don't stick to my references..by the time i complete it..its all together a new design..:P
Hope these guidelines are of some help..
