memories...

HI all, 

Hope you are enjoying the wedding season...

Its always been Quilling which i do the most but recently i tried my hands on Textures.

Have seen some wonderful projects using modelling paste, gesso, stencils etc etc...

So i was too tempted to try my hands on this ...

And coincidentally had my cousin's Silver jubilee coming up so thought why not create a layout...

So i took a canvas stretched on a wooden frame, used Texture white and created some circular patterns with Comb.Love the way the circles turned out..

Wanted to make it colourful so took up my distress inks ( i m totally in love with these!! :P) 

I always wanted to create something with photographs...so asked my nephew to get me there wedding pics(the day the journey started)...what could be better for remembering 25 wonderful years of happy wedded life..

And as i said i have been doing quilling , quilling n quilling...my family loves when i add quilling to there gifts...so it had to be the paper strips again..

So here is my simple no fuss layout..

Sospeso....finally !!

Hi,

Hope you all enjoying the the festival season and winters :)

I have a fetish for paper..paper...and paper...I love anything paper...and handmade.

But recently saw many amazing projects of Sospeso Trasparente ..a volume decoupage technique ...I have always been wanting to try my hands at least once....And believe me its super fun trying this...
Made a mdf frame and gave it a new look with acrylic paint, stamping with stazon..and a little texture with texture white ..

So, here is my latest project...and hoping you all like it...

Modpodge Tile Coasters

HI, 

For quite some time I was thinking of making something easy and fast...and MODPODGE was perfect answer to my question.

Had seen many variants of these tile coasters on Pinterest and had always wanted to try my hands on these.  

They’re cute, easy, and cheap.  My kind of craft project!

These are super fun to make and a great gift to give...I even made a gift box for these and my sister just loved her surprise gift. :)

Grab your tools and try these tile coasters..

You Will Need:

• Ceramic Tiles (4x4)
• Scrapbook Paper of your choice
• Mod Podge and a Foam Brush/and flat brush ( do remember to wash your brush after use)
• Spray Acrylic Sealer
• Felt (any color) or cork/foam dots    
• Any old visiting card,atm card (wondering where will this be used!!....naaah...you are not going shopping,,.!) 

Lets start....

1.  The first thing you’ll need to do is cut squares from the scrapbook paper that are just slightly smaller than the tiles.  One way to do this is to trace around the tiles and then cut just a little bit inside the lines.  Trim as needed to get the fit you want.

2.  Brush some Mod Podge onto the tile and then lay the square of scrapbook paper on it to adhere it to the tile.  Smooth it out with old visiting card/atm card as needed, making sure you get all the way to the edges. But use light pressure with the card or you will end up tearing the paper( i learnt the hard way)

3.  Next, brush a coat of Mod Podge over the paper, again making sure you get all the way to the edges.

4. Let your coasters set for several hours to dry.

5. To make sure your coasters will be waterproof, finish them off with a coat of spray acrylic sealer .

6. To keep the tiles coasters from scratching your furniture, you’ll want to put some felt on the back.  I used felt backing , you can also use cork sheets.Cut a square piece slightly smaller than your tile and stick it to the back. 

And that’s it!

Started blogging again after 2 years...and entered couple of contests...and was among top 6 at the colorconceptionschallenges.blogspot (challenge 4)
It feels so nice to be appreciated by more creative ppl :)

We all know its festival time, weddings round the corner. I have been busy with my orders and this gift box/ gaddi box was designed for one of my client. And this flower bouquet ( gifted my mom on her birthday ) got me inspired to create these boxes, especially the sentiment "A bouquet of good wishes".

Have used mulberry flowers , diecuts, distress inks, gold and clear  heat embossing and pattern paper from DCWV ..Had fun making these..
